Volunteer with NOAA

Have you ever thought about volunteering, but you aren’t sure how to get started? A great organization that can use your help is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA is always looking for volunteers, especially at their marine sanctuaries.

Located all over the American coastline (and even in the Great Lakes), the NOAA marine sanctuaries are a direct line to help our oceans and its marine life. In 2022, volunteers devoted more than 57,000 hours of their time helping marine sanctuaries. That is such a gift to marine life, our earth, and to us all.

Anyone aged 15 or older with a clear background check can volunteer with the NOAA. If you have further questions about eligibility, email Claire.Fackler@noaa.gov for additional details.

Volunteering enables you to:
✋ gain new hands-on experiences
😁 make friends with people who also care about the environment
🐳 help marine life and support healthy oceans
🌎 take climate action into your own hands
