Nothing beats a relaxing spa day! What makes an at-home spa day even better is knowing exactly what is in your skincare and hair care when you make your own with ingredients from home. Not only is making your own products more sustainable, but it is also more affordable. Check out some of the recipes to make your own products for your next spa day!
Raw Honey Lemon Facial Cleanser
- 2 teaspoons raw honey
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- Whisk together honey and lemon juice
- Warm it between your hands and spread on your face and neck
- For a deep pore cleanse – leave until dry
- Wash off with warm water
Aloe and Cucumber Eye GelÂ
- 1/2 of a large, peeled and diced cucumber
- 5-8 tablespoons aloe vera gel
- Place the cucumber in a food processor and process until it is liquid
- Strain through a fine sieve
- Place aloe vera in a bowl and whisk 2 tablespoons of the cucumber water
- Let chill for one hour
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge!
Lavender Salt ScrubÂ
- 1/2 cup Epsom salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- few sprigs of rosemary or lavender, chopped
- 5-10 drops lavender essential oil
- Combine Epsom salt with olive oil
- Mix in the rosemary or lavender sprigs
- Add lavender essential oil and mix
- Apply all over the skin in a circular motion
- Rinse with warm water
Coconut Oil Moisturizer
All you need is about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to gently massage your skin!
Coconut Oil, Sugar, and Essential Oil Hair Mask
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 4 teaspoons of raw sugar
- 5 drops of peppermint oil
- 2 drops of tea tree oil
- Mix all of the ingredients together
- Apply using fingers or a brush
- Gently massage hair for 1-3 minutes
- Clip your hair up and let it sit for the rest of your shower
